Multi-Touch Gestures in webmate
Multi-touch gestures enable the user to interact with the device with multiple pointers on a touch area at the same time.
This technology allows the device to recognize two or more points of contact through a touchpad or a touchscreen.
In webmate, we support multi-touch gestures in manual testing only for Android devices. Multi-touch gestures can be entered either as a direct input from a multi-touch display device or it can be replicated by holding the ‘Alt’/‘Option’ key and using the mouse.
In the latter case, usage is restricted to 2 points of contact, as a user performs half of the gesture with the mouse while the second touch point remains stable. The use of multi-touch gestures with the mouse can be used for zooming in and out, while the direct input allows more flexibility and testing possibilities (e.g. scrolling, rotating, etc.).
Multi-touch gestures can be useful in manual testing scenarios, such as when interacting with maps or photos. Get inspired by reading the following articles: Use Simulation Features and Testing a Mobile App .
